Dimple Yadav is an Indian politician from Uttar Pradesh. She is the wife of Akhilesh Yadav and daughter-in-law of Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Dimple Yadav unsuccessfully contested by election Firozabad Lok Sabha seat in 2009 against actor turned politician Raj Babbar. The Firozobad seat had been won by her husband Akhilesh Yadav in the May 2009 general elections by a margin of 67,301 votes against Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate SPS Baghel. Akhilesh Yadav who also won from Kannauj vacated Firozabad Lok Sabha seat leading to by poll. Prior to her entry into politics and subsequent loss in the by poll, she had been involved in a disproportionate wealth case along with her family members.She was elected unopposed from Kannauj Lok Sabha seat in the by-poll election in 2012, after her husband vacated the seat to enter the Uttar Pradesh legislative council.
Dimple Yadav, became the first woman elected unopposed in a Lok Sabha by-election from Uttar Pradesh and second candidate in the entire State after Purshottam Das Tandon's election from Allahabad West in 1952. She was elected unopposed from Kannauj Lok Sabha seat after two candidates, Dashrath Singh Shankwar (Samyukt Samajwadi Dal) and Sanju Katiyar (Independent) withdrew their nominations. Earlier BSP, Bharatiya Janata Party and Indian National Congress had not fielded their candidates against Dimple Yadav.

NEW DELHI: The Samajwadi Party will announce next week candidates for at least 60 out of the 78 seats it plans to contest in Uttar Pradesh for the next Lok Sabha elections.
The party has decided to grant tickets to sitting MPs, except for Rampur MP, Jaya Prada, who left the party with the exit of former general secretary Amar Singh. "The candidates have been short-listed and will be finalised once the party chief approves it," said senior party leader Ram Gopal Yadav.
